Vision

The MASS Vision is to enhance the contributions of Māori social scientists to Aotearoa New Zealand and international communities by:

• promoting and supporting Māori social science;
• building capacity and capability;
• networking researchers and strengthening collaborations among Māori social scientists;
• developing international linkages, knowledge exchanges and collaborations among indigenous social scientists;
• articulating a Māori social science voice; and
• providing a forum for Māori social scientists to discuss issues of mutual interest and concern and to debate, critique, evaluate, and analyse Māori-focused research without prejudice.

Other important foci include research networking and the strengthening of relations amongst Māori social scientists within an open, cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional network.
