Associate Professor Peter Adds (Te Atiawa ki Taranaki) is the current chair of MASS, a position he has held since 2008. He is based at Te Kawa a Māui, the School of Māori Studies at Victoria University of Wellington where he has worked since 1984. Peter has research interests in New Zealand and Polynesian prehistory, archaeology and history. He also has extensive experience in the area of Treaty settlements having worked as both a researcher and negotiator for the iwi of Taranaki. He is also in demand as a Treaty trainer.
